15 years ago, the creator of bitcoin responded to criticism with a phrase that has become legendary.
On July 29, 2010, the anonymous creator of the cryptocurrency, Satoshi Nakamoto, left an answer on the Bitcointalk forum to doubts that bitcoin can be used for payments. One of the panelists argued that confirming a transaction in 10 minutes is too long, and that “payment should take place as quickly as a bank card payment takes place today.”
Nakamoto objected that it is not necessary to wait for confirmation in the block.:
“I have already described how a payment provider can confirm transactions fairly reliably and with a much lower risk of fraud than with credit cards in about 10 seconds or less.”
And then he added the iconic phrase.:
«If you don’t believe me or don’t get it, I don’t have time to try to convince you, sorry”
Over the years, these words have become a symbol of the attitude of the crypto community towards skeptics.
